[read time: while listening to your favourite album]
No matter when you were born, there was a time when each and every one of us can remember listening to music on a type of device that is different than how we listen to music today. Whether you used to rely on vinyl, cassette tape, cd or mp3, virtually every music lover can now access at least some part of their music collection through the phone that sits in their pocket.
The reality is that one thing has never changed:
the NEED to listen to music.
What has changed, is the tools we use in order to satisfy that need. Tools have been developed with the evolution of technology that make our music listening experience as convenient as possible. Whether you’re talking about the way we purchase music or about how your devices wirelessly communicate to other devices, our need for music is satisfied much simpler today, than it ever ways.
If you’re a small business owner, you might agree that there is one clear similarity between how you run your business and the example above.
No matter what changes, one thing that has never changed is:
the NEED for quality information!!!
Business owners can be that much more effective when they have timely information at their fingertips regarding their business results. That being said, the reality is that sadly, the accounting technology world has not evolved at the same pace as music :(
Many business owners are still using the same tools as they once did to manage their businesses. Although perhaps their accounting systems have been through several updates, the reality is that the system is mostly likely not paperless, doesn’t integrate with other apps, nor can the system be accessed from anywhere.
However some business owners experience the same convenience features with their accounting system as they do with their music collection. These entrepreneurs use cloud-based accounting systems to run the most efficient and effective businesses they can.
And so if you’re a business owner who’s accounting system is not yet cloud-based, next time you are listening to music, maybe think about whether your business can benefit from the new age of accounting.
